R. Kelly broke his social media silence this week to post a birthday message for his daughter.

His daughter Joann Kelly turned 21 this week, and Kelly hopped on Twitter to leave her a video message, where he sang 'Happy Birthday' to her. He then spoke directly into the camera:

“Happy birthday, baby. Daddy love you. I love you, no matter what. I love you so much. Bye. Happy birthday.”

Joann, who goes by the stage name Buku Abi, broke her silence back in January where she slammed her father, calling him a "monster."

"I just want you all to understand that devastated is an understatement," she wrote.

"I pray for all the families & women who have been affected by my father's actions. Trust, I am deeply affected by all of this. However, it had been very difficult to process it all. Let alone gather all the right words to express everything I feel."

She also wrote:

"The same monster you all (are) confronting me about is my father. I am well aware of who and what he is. I grew up in that house. My choice not to speak on him and what he does is for my peace of mind. My emotional state. And for MY healing."
