R&B singer SZA was rushed to the hospital last week, after her management claims that her vocal cords were damaged. Well MTO News is hearing that the damage may be worse than expected.
According to folks on social media, SZA got some BAD NEWS at the doctor. That her vocal cords are PERMANENTLY damaged. And it's not just any ole folks spreading rumors. The details comes from SZA HERSELF.
Look what she posted on Twitter last night, before quickly deleting it:
According to SZA's fans - she may never sing publicly again.
SZA returned to the stage last night for the TDE tour and clearly her pipes were not where she needed them to be.
According to Pitchfork, "Following her performance, she wrote a since-deleted series of tweets (which Vulture has archived). “My voice is permanently injured,” she wrote. “Tonight was the test. That settles that. 👍🏾” She later added, “I jus wanna be left alone my priorities are fucked up. They been fucked up. I need space goodbye.”
Last week, TDE’s CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith announced that they were pulling her from the tour for a few dates. “Her vocal cords are swollen and she has to rest her voice to prevent any permanent damage,” he said in a statement. In her own statement, SZA revealed that she’d been relying on steroids to pull through her recent touring schedule. “This didn’t happen overnight,” she said.
Hopefully she can sort out her vocal difficulties and her voice isn't in fact permanently damaged. We're sure her fans will be praying that she returns to the studio and stage.
