A prominent New York Doctor from a Harlem clinic was charged yesterday with sexually abusing a female patient during a breast cancer screening last year, MTO News has learned.
Dr. Mark Jackson, 58, was charged with forcible touching and sexual abuse for allegedly sucking the 54-year-old patient’s breast during a routine breast exam. Police also say that the doctor guided the patient's hand to his genitals against the woman’s will during a routine exam on Sept. 15, 2017.
“Do you see how hard you got me?” he allegedly asked the patient during the mid-morning session.
Reports say that Jackson, wearing, glasses, a Ralph Lauren plaid shirt and navy slacks, nervously stood before Judge Joanne Watters as he was arraigned Wednesday in Manhattan Criminal Court on two counts of sex abuse and one count of forcible touching.
Manhattan Prosecutor Matthew McCarthy said that Jackson “betrayed the trust of his patient and sexually abused her while she was seeking a simple cancer screening.”
In another shocking event, "He admitted to authorities that he later called the patient at home — but only after “she wrote her number on a piece of paper, handed it to me and said call me sometime. I told her I would do that.”
In a Dec. 1, 2017, meeting with investigators, Jackson insisted the doctor’s visit was above board. “During the breast exam, I only touched her with my hands,” he allegedly said, according to prosecutors.
Dr Jackson was ordered held on $15,000 bail at his arraignment Wednesday night.
This wasn’t Jackson’s first brush with the law. In 1996 he was convicted of distribution of a controlled substance in Manhattan federal court and was sentenced to one year in prison.
