Prince Andrew has had his royal titles removed and his work on behalf of the royal family — and now he’s scared he’ll be broke.
“Until very recently it appears the absolute enormity of this case and the consequences he faces has not hit him,” a source told the Daily Mail. “Now the bills are mounting up and the possibility of a settlement, or even worse a judgment against him, is being widely discussed; he fears complete financial ruin.”
The royal family dropped him a day after a judge ruled a sexual abuse civil lawsuit against the royal could move forward.
“With The Queen’s approval and agreement, the Duke of York’s military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to The Queen. The Duke of York will continue not to undertake any public duties and is defending this case as a private citizen,” the palace said in an official statement.
The legal fees could cost in the millions and if he loses the case, he could have to may more than $10 million in a settlement.
