Filming of the Starz hit series, Power, was shut down yesterday following the real-life killing of a 63-year-old crew production assistant.

Pedro Jimenez was hit by an SUV on set, forcing everything to come to a halt. The news trended Monday on social media, with fans of the show sharing their condolences. Jimenez was putting traffic cones in the lane not long after 4:00 am. A 2006 Ford Explorer, driven y a co-worker, struck Pedro while they were on Douglas Street.

Jimenez was quickly rushed to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

The NYPD’s traffic investigation squad is looking into the incident.

Rapper 50 Cent took to social media to pay tribute to the fallen crew member:

"I just learned we lost Pedro Jimenez, a member of the Power production team early this morning. My prayers and condolences are with the entire Jimenez family," he wrote.

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of the members of our Power family,” a Starz spokesperson told Deadline. “Our thoughts are with Mr. Jimenez’ family as we work to fully understand what has happened.”
