Joshua Brown, a key witness in the Botham Jean murder trial, was suspiciously murdered just days after former police officer Amber Guyger was convicted of murdering Botham.

Police now say they know what happened. According to law enforcement, Joshua was a drug dealer, who was killed while trying to sell weed to a group men from Louisiana.

Dallas Assistant Chief of Police Avery Moore claims that three men from Alexandria, La., met Joshua in the parking lot of his Dallas apartment with the intention of buying marijuana.

Police claim that a disagreement ensued, and a fight broke out between the men. Police say that during the fight, Joshua fired at one of the three men — and they returned fire and shot Brown twice in the lower body, killing him.

Police say that they later searched Joshua's home and found  12 pounds of marijuana, 149 grams of THC cartridges and $4,157 in cash.

Police then pointed the media to Joshua's social media page, which appeared to show pics of him "trapping."
