A Philadelphia man is being charged with murdering his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son. The boy, Zyair Worrell, was found unresponsive in a Philadelphia home last month.
Twenty-one-year old Rimear Custis from Philly was charged Wednesday over the boy’s death.
An exam revealed Zyair suffered a lacerated liver, bruising to his chest and ear and an abrasion over his eye. The toddler also tested positive for THC, the main psychoactive component in marijuana.
Zyair's mother has been arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Her boyfriend, who is not the child's father, is being held on a prior matter while investigators build a homicide case against him.
