Animal Rights group PETA has called out pop singer Justin Bieber after he forked over $35k for exotic cats.
"Baby, baby, baby, nooooooo," PETA Senior Vice President Lisa Lange said in a statement to Page Six.
"Justin Bieber could inspire his fans around the world to save a life by adopting a cat from a local animal shelter — rather than fueling the dangerous demand for hybrid cats, contributing to the animal overpopulation crisis, and proving that when it comes to helping animals, his stance so far is 'I don't care.'"
PETA is known for being aggressive in their tactics to dissuade unwitting celebs from wearing fur and eating meat. They are also known for throwing buckets of fake blood over fur-wearers.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bieber copped two exotic cats, which he reportedly named Sushi and Tuna after buying them for $20,000 and $15,000, respectively, from Illinois-based breeder Select Exotics.
