Rapper/reality star Remy Ma was supposed to perform at Essence Festival this weekend in New Orleans. But her parole officer shut it down.

MTO News confirmed that the multi-platinum artist (and beauty) Reminisce Mackie aka Remy Ma, was unable to travel to the music and entertainment festival. She was scheduled to perform on the main stage. Remy was also booked to give a talk on empowering women.

Unfortunately a parole officer wouldn't allow it to happen.

Remy took to Instagram yesterday to explain her predicament to her fans.  Remy complained that her parole officer shut down all travel outside of New York.

In the message, Remy praised husband and daughter's father Papoose (who stayed loyal while she was in prison for nearly 7 years).

Remy told fans:

Supposed to be at Essence Fest in New Orleans but the powers that be at parole won’t let me be great (or make money🙄) sooo I’ve been counting down the days and handling a lot of personal stuff that usually gets pushed to the back burner.

Remy Ma has had some issues with the law in the past few weeks, but she has a few beautiful reasons to smile and be grateful, and one of them is her beautiful daughter, Reminisce MacKenzie Mackie.

Via social media, Papoose’s wife shared a series of beyond sweet pictures and videos where she is bonding and creating special memories with the Golden Child while enjoying the ocean view and delicious food.

Remy, who was arrested for punching Love & Hip-Hop: New York star Brittney Taylor, had this emotional caption for her photos with her baby: “Remy & Reminisce
