OJ Simpson has defended NFL player Antonio Brown, who has been accused of sexual assault and rape.
"I saw where somebody [Britney Taylor] accused Antonio of rape," Simpson said in a video posted to Twitter.
"Now, let's make one thing clear: he was accused, not charged. I don't know how that's going to affect him (in Week 2). I'm hoping it's not true. Nothing I knew about Antonio would make me think someone would do something like that.
His opinions came as he was upset that the allegations could affect his fantasy football team."
"I hope it's not true. I'm just saying."
The news comes as a statement was released via Brown's lawyer on Tuesday:
"Mr. Brown denies each and every allegation in the lawsuit. He will pursue all legal remedies to not only clear his name but to also protect other professional athletes against false accusations," Brown's lawyer, Darren Heitner said.
