Offset hopped on Instagram to let rappers know how the Migos have changed the game on the sixth anniversary of the release of the trio's 'Y.R.N.' tape.
"SIX YEARS LATER AND WE CHANGED THE GAME ALL YOUR FAVORITE ARTIST SOUND LIKE MIGOS LETS GO BACK AND SEE YOUR CADENCE IN 2013," Offset begins in the post which features the album artwork of their debut tape.
" I CHALLENGE ANY ARTIST TO PLAY THEY MUSIC FROM 2013 and PLAY THEY MUSIC NOW..YOUR SOUND IS NOW MIGOS SOUND IN 2013 I SAY THIS VERY HUMBLE BUT ITS TRUE SO STOP SAYING U MADE WORDS UP AND ALL THAT," he continued, modest as ever.
"WE MADE YOUR SOUND CRAZY !!!!! DO YOUR RESEARCH!!! WE MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR ALOT OF YOU GUYS TO HAVE LIFE IN THIS GAME THANK US ON OUR ANNIVERSARY" he concluded the post.
'Y.R.N'. features hit songs "Hannah Montana," and the Zaytoven-produced classic "Versace," which truly put the group on the map.
Is he right? Did Migos change the rap game?
Migos is gearing up to release Culture III. On Wednesday (June 12), Offset revealed that the third installment in the group’s Culture series is on the way.
“MIGO GANG TIME !!!!!!!! New chapters otw,” he tweeted.
During a Q&A with fans in March, Offset said that Culture III would not be dropping until early 2020 in keeping with past releases, including 2017’s Culture and 2018’s Culture II, which were both released in January.
After each releasing solo projects—Quavo’s Quavo Huncho, Takeoff’s The Last Rocket, and Offset’s Father of 4—the group is back to focusing on Migos. “No straight gang shit from now on,” Offset told a fan when asked if more solo projects were on the way.
The Atlanta trio will take the stage at the 2019 BET Awards on Sunday, June 23, where they are nominated for Best Group.
