Nipsey Hussle's funeral will take place today at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. And as the funeral draws closer, more tickets are popping up for sale on sites like Craigslist, and other ticket scalping sites.
MTO News looked online, and found plenty of tickets for sale online. And they were expensive - with some front row seats to Nipsey's funeral going for as much as $1,000 a seat.
The Los Angeles Times reports four tickets for the service were sold on eBay for $400.
This type of listing violates eBay’s free ticket policy, which states “eBay may prohibit tickets to major charity events and events where all tickets are free to the public.”
The sales “did not end up as a successful transaction,” eBay told the Times.
We managed to get screenshots of some of the tickets that are being offered for sale on Craigslist:
Craigslist claims that it is trying their best to stop scalpers from selling the tickets on their site - but the scalpers are relentless.
And if you want to attend Nipsey's funeral, it's not too late. According to local news reports, scalpers will be outside of the Staples Center, selling tickets to the home-going ceremony to fans.
Re-sale tickets are going for anywhere from $100 to $1000 each ticket.
The service will be followed by a procession through the streets of South L.A., and the police are said to be ramping up security.
The procession is expected to pass by The Marathon Clothing, a store that Hussle opened in 2017 and where he was gunned down on March 31. He has since been remembered through vigils, murals and in interviews with family and friends.
