Nicki Minaj lashed out at critics of her relationship to Kenneth "Zoo" Petty during a recent interview on her Beats 1 Radio show, #QueenRadio.
“When a person is with a n*gga that loved them before they had a dime in their pocket? How do you not understand that? How do you not understand happiness versus clout?” Minaj said on air.
“How f*cking dare you talk about lowering standards,” adding that “It’s the truth, money cannot buy me happiness and good sex."
Minaj faced backlash over her reignited romance with childhood sweetheart Petty after his criminal record surfaced online. Petty had served time for the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl in 1995. A few years later he pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in a separate matter.
But the couple appears to be happy and are headed up the aisle very soon.
“We did get our marriage license,” she said on the show last month. “I think I have what I was striving for, just happiness. It was so hard to get to a happy place. Now that I’m there, I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything.”
