The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association announced that they will not subject players to drug testing during the hiatus caused by the coronavirus.

According to Yahoo! Sports, players are usually subjected to “six random, unannounced urine drug tests during each season and off-season,” but the testing is off for the time being -- a specific timeframe has not been given.

Marijuana, steroids, and performance-enhancing drugs are some of the banned substances in the league’s anti-drug program, regardless of whether the state has legalized marijuana or not.

The league was suspended after Utah Jazz player, Rudy Gobert contracted the virus. A second teammate confirmed that he had the virus just a day later.

The CDC has advised large gatherings of no more than 50 people and is advising people to stay indoors as the social distancing continues. Trump announced on Monday that it could be July or August before we see this pandemic fully under control.
