2018 has it’s FIRST serious HIP HOP BATTLE – and it’s with the two HOTTEST stars in the game – Kendrick Lamar and Drake.
But that was only the start. You see, Kendrick released his new Black Panther album yesterday. But before it could take off . . . Drake dropped a new track "Look Alive" – with Memphis rapper Bloc Boy – and it’s stealing ALL of Kendrick’s shine.
Drake has fired SHOTS at rival rapper Kendrick Lamar in an interview a while back with hip-hop journalist Elliott Wilson but he is yet to put it on wax.
The history between Kendrick and Drake goes back several years Kendrick has repeatedly thrown jabs at the OVO boss, but Drake has remained relatively quiet, choosing instead to direct his attention to MMG's Meek Mill.
On Big Sean's 2013 "Control Verse" he said the following:
"Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Millz, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron', Tyler, Mac Miller/ I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you n*ggas."
The above lyrics could just be perceived as a friendly jab. On Dr. Dre's Compton album, Kendrick rattled off several lines which were thought to be shots as the Drake, including the following lines from "Deep Water."
"They liable to bury him, they nominated six to carry him / They worrying him to death, but he's no vegetarian / The beef is on his breath, inheriting the drama better than / A great white, n*gga, this is life in my aquarium."
These are just a couple of examples of Kendrick coming for Drake. We had all but given up on a rebuttal, but it seems that 2018 is the year that Drake is coming for his head.
What the release of his "Look Alive" video a deliberate to take over his big moment? You decide.
We hope Drake's ready for what's coming because it ain't going to be pretty!
