Ten days ago a group of masked, armed men broke into Kim Kardashian’s Paris hotel room, bound and gagged her and stole millions worth of jewelry, including a $4.5 million diamond ring given to her by husband Kanye West.
Immediately after the news broke, details began leaking out – from various news sources.
News agencies began analyzing the information leaked – and many believed that there were inconsistencies in the reports. Many reputable news agencies, and even one Supreme Court justice, began questioning whether Kim Kardashian was ever really robbed. We were one of those news agencies who questioned what may have truly taken place.
But now after speaking to sources, including some connected to the Kardashians, and getting further details on the sequence of events - we are now confident and without a doubt believe that Kim Kardashian was robbed as was reported to the Paris police. Anyone who is still questioning it, is wrong.
We know that some of you reading this article STILL believe that Kim Kardashian staged the robbery. Those that feel this way mainly do so because of four “facts” that some believe suggest that the robbery was “staged.” Let’s tackle each one separately:
FIRST: Kanye And Kim Are NOT Having Financial Trouble
There was a recent Daily Mail report which claimed that Kanye West recently took out a $2 million line of credit on his apartment a few months ago. To many, this is "proof" that Kanye and Kim are in some type of financial distress – and that they "staged" the robbery for insurance money. That is NOT TRUE.
Assuming the Daily Mail’s report is true, Kanye took out a line of credit on his New York bachelor pad. Kanye bought that apartment when he was single. He has since gotten married and started a family. The apartment is NOT BIG enough for them – and neither Kim nor he even USE IT anymore. Taking out a line of credit on an apartment you rarely use doesn't AT ALL sound like financial trouble.
Moreover, it is not like the apartment is Kim and Kanye’s only property. Kim and Kanye currently own a $20 million Bel Air mansion and a $20 million Calabasas mansion (both have appreciated handsomely since they bought them). They also own multiple other residences around the world, and were early investors in some of the hottest internet companies. And don’t forget, Kanye is currently on a multimillion dollar tour, and Kim makes hundreds of thousands just to show up at an event.
Does that sound like people who have financial troubles?
SECOND: Why Weren’t The Robbers CAUGHT ON CAMERA
We know that this may be hard for you to believe, but MOST hotels that cater to high-end and celebrity clientele have few, if any security cameras. Celebrities value privacy – and they generally don’t stay at hotels with a lot of cameras. Remember what happened with Jay Z and Solange? We bet they never stay at THAT HOTEL again.
The hotel where Kim was stayed is a favorite of celebrities, so the fact that they didn’t have any cameras in position to catch the robbers makes COMPLETE sense.
THIRD: Kim Did Not Stage The Robbery For Keeping Up With The Kardashians
We spoke independently with two people who work on the E! show, and both SWORE that there was no taping going on the night of the robbery.
And that makes sense. Remember, you need a crew to film a reality show. At a minimum you’d need a cameraperson, a sound person and a producer to film a scene.
Reports show that there were only two people in the hotel room (Kim and her stylist). There has not been a single report, or even a suggestion, that anyone else was in Kim’s hotel room when the robbers entered. And there is no evidence that anyone associated with production was anywhere near Kim afterwards.
FOURTH: Where Was Kim’s Bodyguard And Why Did She Call Him - And Not The Police – After The Robbery
Kim Kardashian traveled to Paris with her bodyguard, Pascal Duvier. On the night of the robbery, Kim decided to stay in – and asked Pascal to accompany her sister Kendall to a nightclub.
Kim believed that she was in a SECURE hotel – and she was justified in feeling that way. There had never been an incident of this sort in the HISTORY of the hotel – and remember – only EXTREMELY RICH people with expensive stuff stay there.
After the robbery she called her bodyguard. Why? First, she doesn’t speak FRENCH. How do you expect her to talk to the emergency operator.
Second, she probably didn’t know the address of the hotel she was staying at - the hotel is colloquially referred to as the “No Address Hotel.”
Third, and probably most importantly, she called a person that she knew would rush back to try and save her. Is it that HARD TO BELIEVE that when you get robbed, you call the person paid to protect you?
We can understand how reports questioning if the robbery in fact took place can be hurtful, and so we apologize.
No one deserves to go through such a traumatic experience. Kim is not just celebrity, she is a person, a wife and a mother - who in no way deserved what happened to her.
We wish her the best as she emotionally recovers from the traumatic incident.
