Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman has reportedly been blamed for the killing of his granddaughter at her killer's sentencing.
Page Six reports that the defendant’s family yelled that he caused her murder as he allegedly sexually abused her as a child.
“Morgan Freeman molested her and he caused this. He did this,” the killer Lamar Davenport’s mother yelled to a reporter in the court.
“He’s innocent! It was an accident!” she continued.
Rumors of an affair between Freeman and his step-granddaughter E’Dena Hines were reportedly made by the defense during Davenport’s murder trial in Manhattan Supreme Court.
“E’Dena Hines disclosed to Lamar Davenport and others that her grandfather engaged in a sexually inappropriate relationship with her,” Davenport’s lawyer, Beth Unger, claimed in court back in April, 2018.
“Lamar admitted to me that they had a violent relationship,” said Dr. Jeremy Colley. “[Their] disagreements could be emotionally intense.”
They have also been circulating around the industry for many years but Freeman has always denied the allegations.
Davenport was convicted of stabbing his then-girlfriend Hines more than 25 times in the summer of 2015 while he was high on PCP.
Hines’s niece, Ayanna Freeman, and biological mother, Deena Adair, told the court:
“My soulmate was taken from me, and ever since then I continue to feel the emptiness.
“We shared so many of my first experiences together. There were supposed to be other firsts that she cannot and will not be a part of. This experience has forever changed me as a person.”
