The Royal Family has confirmed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have welcomed their first child.

"We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.," the couple announced via Instagram.

"The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the forthcoming days," the statement concluded.

MTO reported that Meghan had gone into labor in the early hours of the morning.

The child, which will be seventh in line for the throne, was due in late April or early May. Supporters may need to wait a while to get a glimpse of the brand new royal. The couple will not be presenting their baby on the hospital steps per royal tradition, but instead, Prince Harry and his wife will be enlisting a private photographer to take the baby pics.
