Female rapper Saweetie is hoping to steal some of her friend Megan Thee Stallion's wave, by labeling the upcoming winter  an "Icy Girl" winter.

Megan famously labeled the summer of 2019 the "Hot Girl summer," and that label has been accepted by women and girls across the globe. That phrase helped catapult Megan to the very top of the female rapper list.

Her "friend" Saweetie is hoping to do the same for herself. She announced yesterday on Twitter that she's changing the name of winter 2019-20 to the "Icy Girl" winter.

So far, it doesn't seem like her fans on social media are going along with the plan:

Saweetie is a rapper, singer and songwriter. After the release of her debut single, "Icy Grl", she was signed to Warner Bros. Records in partnership with Artistry Worldwide. She released her debut extended play, High Maintenance, on March 16, 2018.

As a part of Saweetie’s #MYTYPECHALLENGE, fans took to Instagram, TikTok, and Triller to upload videos of themselves dancing to the track, all competing for a shot at winning $3000 and tickets to see the San Franciscan perform at Rolling Loud Bay Area. Subsequently, the song’s official video debuted on July 3rd, catapulting the record to the Hot 100 as well as Amazon Music’s new Rap Rotation—a weekly playlist with the expressed purpose of curating upward trending songs.
