A Jacksonville, Florida McDonald’s manager was caught on camera yesterday slapping the MESS out of a customer. Now the manager, Ciarrea Williams, is telling local news agencies that she’s "embarrassed by the incident." "I want to apologize to my head boss, which is my store owner, also my coworkers, my team, my family, and my kids," said McDonald's manager Ciarrea Williams told WJXT.
The incident all started when a customer got frustrated over how long it took to get her food order.
As you can see in the below video shot by a customer, Ciarrea walked from behind the counter and hit a female customer. Ciarrea told two local reporters that she wants to apologize for the incident and that she wishes there had been a different outcome.
McDonalds corporate office is investigating the incident. They have not issued a statement yet.
But Ciarrea may have been PROVOKED by the white customer. She claims the customer was verbally abusing the staff, and that her comments even turning “racial." The local affiliate reported that during the incident insults such as:
"She makes $1,200 a week. McDonald's employees are poor, and we should be standing in the section 8 line." "I turned around to say that's it. I draw the line with you cursing profanity at me and my workers. I just said ma'am I'll give you a refund, give you your food, and you still can have a nice day," Williams said. "At that moment, no one can tell you what it feels like, at that moment," Williams said.
