Hillsong is in the headlines again after another married pastor was allegedly caught doing the wrong thing — sexting one of the church volunteers.
Darnell Barrett, who is the creative director of Hillsong’s Montclair, New Jersey, chapter — has resigned as a result. After sending a church volunteer a picture of himself with his “package” showing, he allegedly said this to her:
“Hey! I think I might’ve added you to my close friends list by accident. I’m so sorry. Trying to figure out how the hell to edit it,” he allegedly texted the volunteer after sending a “lewd” photo of himself in front of a mirror, wearing only white Nike Pro tights.
He then reportedly texted the volunteer several times to convince her she’d only received the image by accident.
“Seriously, sorry about that. I guess,” he continued, “some real raw s–t I send to my friends man. Lol.”
Daily Mail obtained the tweets sent to the volunteer.
She then says he tried to meet with her, but he denies it.
“I was not at all trying to lure her,” he said. “I get that she, within the context of what’s happening with Hillsong, that she would draw those conclusions.”
He added: “But I barely know her. That was not my intention.”
