Last week, a Michigan man live-streamed the attempted murder of his own mother on Facebook Live.

The disturbed man started streaming Live as he held his mother hostage after a spat between them.

Corey Lynn-Christopher Catlin, 29, is believed to have stabbed his mother and taken her hostage immediately before streaming on Facebook Live. 

When police  arrived on the scene, the officers entered the residence and claim Corey was holding a knife to the victim. An officer immediately opens fire and shoots Corey in the neck.

The suspect, and his mother are both taken to the hospital. Both are expected to survive their injuries. 

The officer who shot Cory has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Cory, who was arrested as a result of the incident, was on parole.
