Tacuma Ashman, one of the three men involved in the 2018 gunpoint robbery of Safaree Samuels, has been found guilty of first-degree robbery and is facing up to 50 years in prison.
Ashan will be sentenced on Jan. 28. He was also convicted on charges of resisting arrest and weapons possession.
Ashman and his codefendants stalked Safaree’s social media to check out his jewelry. He then robbed Safaree of $180,000 worth of jewelry at gunpoint in his NJ home. They then went on a high-speed car chase with police across the George Washington Bridge and into NYC.
“I just got robbed at gunpoint,” Safaree said in 2018. “A couple of hours ago, I just got robbed. Two dudes with guns just ran up on me, me face down on the floor with a gun to my head. They just took everything.”
SAFAREE CAUGHT CHEATING?!
Carl Harry and Shawn Harewood were also charged. Harewood, a former friend of Safaree’s, hired Harry and Ashman to do the crime because Safaree would recognize him. In 2019, Harry took a plea deal and was sentenced to 364 days in jail and five years of probation by pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit theft.
