The Louvre broke their visitor record in 2018 and it's all down to Beyoncé and her husband, JAY-Z.

The couple bought out the prestigious museum so that they could film their "Apesh*t" music video. After the video premiered, fans flocked to the French staple to check it all out.

The Louvre received over 10 million visitors in 2018 which is a 25 percent rise. The last time they had close to that number of visitors was back in 2012 when they received 9.7 million visitors. 

The museum's director Jean-Luc Martinez knew who to thank.

“The Beyoncé video, like the opening of the Louvre museum in Abu Dhabi, ensured that the Louvre was talked about across the world, and one of the consequences of that is the spectacular rise in visitor numbers last year," the museum's director, Jean-Luc Martinez said, per the Guardian.

And they certainly capitalised off the "Apesh*t" visuals. The Louvre began to offer 90-minute tours inspired by the video.
