Actor Michael Rainey Jr plays Tariq on the show Power - the teenage son of Ghost. On the show, he's a spoiled brat - who gets mixed up in some street business.
Off the shw, he seems to be a pretty straight laced young man. He's 17 years old, and from all accounts, he seems to be doing really well for himself and staying out of trouble.
But people are a little worried about him, after seeing who he brought to last night's POWER premiere in NYC. The premiere was a MOVIE - nearly 6,000 people showed up to watch the first episode. And afterwards, they had a full CONCERT.
His girlfriend is pretty and all. But he's just a kid and she looks a little too . .. EXPERIENCED.
Michael also has a lot of celebrate because he just got a MASSIVE pay increase for his role on "Power."
According to the website, The Blast, "“Power” star Michael Rainey Jr. has landed himself a sweet raise for the hit show, negotiating a deal to pay him more than double what he had been making. According to docs obtained by The Blast, the 17-year-old actor was pulling in $20,000 an episode for the first season. His original deal provided for an increase of 4% annually for the following seasons.
Earlier this year, producers agreed to give Rainey Jr. a huge raise for future seasons. The new deal will pay him $45,000 an episode moving forward, an increase of $25k per episode, with a guaranteed seven episodes person.
A little math tells us that’s $315,000 a season."
