A Baltimore teenage girl is in trouble with the law, after a video showing her PUNCHING her teacher in the face went viral.

The video shows a student at Frederick Douglass High School in Baltimore, punching her teacher in the face. The teacher is reportedly a cancer survivor and this attack happened on her first day back after a long medical leave.

The video shows a student hitting the teacher in the head after apparently scuffling with another student. The teacher did not retaliate, but is seen following the student who hit her out of the classroom.

The video appears to show two students bickering while standing close to the teacher, and one student backs away while the other hits the teacher. The teacher recoils and the student who hit her leaves the classroom. She doesn’t retaliate, but follows her out the door.

City Public Schools spokeswoman Edie House Foster says in a statement that the student struck the teacher following a verbal exchange. She says administrators are investigating and will apply disciplinary action in accordance with the school system’s code of conduct.

“School administrators at Frederick Douglass High School continue to investigate a physical altercation that took place today when a teacher was struck by a student following a verbal exchange," said BCPS in a statement.
