Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Lerentee McCray was arrested in Florida over the weekend following a high speed chase.

According to the police, McCray was driving 88 miles per hour in a 50 mph zone on Sunday.

Officers tried to pull him over but according to TMZ, the NFL star flipped them off and sped off. He drove up to speeds of 100 mph. They abandoned pursuit due to the dangerous speed but Tavares police stopped him about 15 minutes later.

“We are aware of the situation and are gathering more information,” the Jaguars said in a statement. “We have no further comment at this time.”

Dashcam footage of the pursuit shows him driving at high speeds in a white pickup truck.

He was taken to a hospital where he was evaluated for an “altered” mental state.

He was booked on a second-degree felony charge of fleeing with disregard of safety to persons or property and released on $5,000 bond.
