Two Mississippi girls ages 12 and 14 are facing homicide charges for allegedly murdering their own mother. Well, now a lawyer is claiming that the two girls killed their mother in self-defense and that the two might get off Scott free - because sheriff’s deputies may have questioned them improperly.

Greg Malta, the attorney for 14 year old Amariyona Hall told the media, “I can tell you that I anticipate my client and her sister are both going to be defended on a theory of self-defense."

Both girls are charged with the murder of their mother, Ericka Hall, just north of the Louisiana state line.

The 14 year old girl is currently in jail, facing a $100,000 bond, Her 12-year-old sister is charged as a juvenile and has been released to the custody of her father.

Prosecutors claim that the girls confessed to planning the killing in advance, faking a knock at the front door to lure Ericka Hall from her bedroom. 

The 14-year-old allegedly told prosecutors that she stabbed Ericka Hall, then her sister shot her, and the 14-year-old stabbed her again. Her sister later found her in the grass beside her car.

Amariyona Hall has been charged as an adult in the murder of her 32-year-old mother, Ericka Hall, who was killed on January 4 at her home in Magnolia, Mississippi, The Associated Press reports. The 12-year-old girl has been charged with murder as a juvenile and is not being identified because of her age.
