Rapper Kodak Black has requested that his upcoming rape trial be delayed.

According to legal documents obtained by Bossip, a South Carolina judge granted Kodak's request to delay his rape trial. Kodak was scheduled to appear in court this month to face sexual assault allegations involving a teenage girl. He was charged with criminal sexual contact in the first degree following the alleged rape.

A new date for the trial has not yet been released. Delaying the trial may be a smart move for Kodak. He has been making headlines for all of the wrong reasons. This week, his tour bus was raided by the FBI. Last week he was locked up for probation violation where weed and a firearm were found inside his vehicle. He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana and released after posting a $20,000 bail.

If convicted for the rape, Kodak will spend up to 30 years behind bars.
