Rapper Kodak Black has reportedly requested to be released from jail and instead placed on 24-hour monitoring so that he can fight an ongoing rape case.

Kodak needs to appear in South Carolina for felony sexual misconduct charge for when his trial begins.

According to TMZ, the rapper says he still wants out on bond and proposes a system of nonstop, round-the-clock supervision to ensure he makes all of his required court appearances. He will then return to Florida.

Sounds reasonable, but federal prosecutors want Kodak to remain behind bars and have already claimed that he is too risky for bail due to his criminal history. But Kodak's legal team claim authorities don't have evidence to support that.

Kodak has been in jail for almost two weeks after the feds claimed that he lied on an application to purchase three guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition. He was arrested while making his way to the Rolling Loud stage.
