NBA superstar Kawhi Leonard is known as a quiet and mild mannered basketball player. But those characteristics apparently do not run in the family. The Clippers' superstar forward's sister is being accused of murdering and robbing an 84-year-old woman at Pechanga Resort Casino.
An online reports say that Kawhi had "cut off" his sister before she allegedly turned to robbing people.
According to authorities, Kawhi's sister and Candace Tai Townsel, 39, followed 84-year-old Afaf Anis Assad into a bathroom at the Casino near Temecula, and broke her skull and stole her purse.
Assad died a few days later.
Kimesha Monae Williams, 35, Kawhi's sister is being held without bail at Indio Correction Facility in California for the commission of this crime.
Kawhi’s aunt, Denise Woodard, has already spoken out about the incident, telling the press that “He [Kawhi] didn’t have anything to do with this.”
According to online reports, Kawhi had "cut off" Kimesha and refused to give her any financial support some time ago. It's not clear - if Kawhi would have given her support - whether she would have ever committed such a heinous crime.
Kawhi, 28, who attended Canyon Springs High in Moreno Valley before graduating from King High in Riverside, signed a three-year, $103 million contract with the Clippers in July.
