Kanye West's pastor, Adam Tyson, has revealed that Kanye West almost quit rap music because it's the "devil's music."
Tyson revealed the news to Christian Apologia Studios, a Christian media outlet. Tyson says if it were not for him, Ye would have walked away from the genre, which made him a world-famous star.
"One time, he told me that he wasn't going to rap. I said, 'Why not?' He said, 'That's the devil's music.' I said, 'Hey, man. Rap is a genre. You can rap for God.' I think he was already thinking about it a little bit, but I definitely said, 'Hey, bro. I think you need to use your talents that God's given you and use that platform for God.'"
Tyson's words come as Ye took to Twitter to announce that his next album, Jesus is King, will be released later on this week. He has already revealed that the album will be a gospel album - as indicated by the album's title.
