The Real Housewives of Atlanta will be without one of its most popular members, MTO News has learned. Fan favorite, Kandi Burress, is expected to leave the Housewives this season.
The new season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta is in utter shambles as it stands, as ratings for the show have fallen to its lowest ever. And now MTO News confirmed that Kandi Burress is preparing to leave the show – unless they DOUBLE her salary (to an estimated $4 million).
Kandi, who acts on the series The Chi and also narrated Keeping Up With the Joneses, is moving to New York where she is part of the producing team of the upcoming play Thoughts of a Colored Man, which is set to star Broadway’s first all-Black, male cast.

The show debuts in September, and runs through May – in direct conflict with filming for the Real Housewives in Atlanta which begins in October and runs through February.
MTO News spoke with a person close to Kandi who told us that the reality star is not willing do fly back and forth from NY to Atlanta for filming unless her salary is DOUBLED.
The insider told MTO News, “Bravo can either pay Kandi, or she’ll walk and the show will continue to go down the drain.”
Here’s proof of Kandi’s schedule conflict:
When Kandi first announced her Broadway venture, she told fans “History in the making! All of these incredible black actors will be starring in @coloredmanplay on Broadway! @dyllonburnside @wolfjames @mackwilds @forrestmcclenson @silverthroat @therealbtc @davinchi [and] written by @keenanthemuse! Follow them! I’m blessed to be a part of the producing team! The tickets are on sale now! Get your tickets now!”
