Empire actor Jussie Smollet was caught on camera appearing to brag about "getting off", after Chicago police say that he lied about being attacked.
The Empire actor was charged with 16 felonies after police say he lied about being attacked by a group of Trump Supporters. Jussie claimed the attackers used racist and homophobic slurs during the attack.
But Jussie managed to get off - after the prosecutor took the controversial step of dropping charges.
Yesterday, the paparazzi caught up with Jussie as he vacationed in Hawaii. He was seen bragging to someone on the phone - that he beat the charges.
Here's what The Daily Mail is reporting:
Jussie, wearing an all black outfit with white sneakers, can be seen walking around a parking lot. An onlooker said: ‘He was saying “Ryan, Ryan”.’
The star appeared tense during the conversation, which took place during his family vacation to the islands and came just days after he was pictured all smiles on a trip to the beach.
Smollett’s family were dining in a nearby restaurant during the phone call, according to eyewitnesses.

Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx described “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett as a “washed up celeb who lied to cops” in texts messages released Tuesday by her office in response to a public-records request by the Chicago Tribune.
Foxx compared Smollett’s case to her office’s pending indictments against R&B singer R. Kelly in text messages to Joseph Magats, her top assistant, on March 8, the paper reported
“Pedophile with 4 victims 10 counts. Washed up celeb who lied to cops, 16 (counts),” she wrote. “… Just because we can charge something doesn’t mean we should.”
