Jermaine Dupri is denying that Jay-Z told him to turn down a deal with the NFL last year, despite DJ Funk Flex's claims to the contrary. According to Dupri:

"He and I never had a conversation where he told me, 'don't do what you're doing.' What our conversation was... 'you know what side I'm on, I understand what you're doing.' That's what the conversation was," Dupri shared with Big Tigger.

Earlier this week, Bryan-Michael Cox had claimed that Jay had convinced Dupri to turn down a similar deal last year. On Monday, Funk Flex tweeted that he had spoken to Dupri and that he confirmed that such a conversation did take place.

But Dupri is saying that the conversation with Jay was along the lines of "You know which side I'm on. I understand what you're doing."

Well, it seems that while Jay did not tell Dupri not to partner with the NFL, he was hoping that he would not. But now both music moguls appear to be on the same side.
