Just days after rapper Jeezy and The Real co-host Jeannie Mai went public with their relationship, an old clip from the show has resurfaced where Jeannie says that she likes "dark meat on the side. White keeps me mean and lean."
The internet is unforgiving - and it was only a matter of time before something like this happened - but her comments on race have not aged well.
"I loved Black guys! I did, I did. But for me, dark meat on the side. White keeps me mean and lean, you know? That's why I married white. That's what I like," she said in the clip from 2014.
According to Jeannie, that does not mean that she just uses Black men as side-pieces:
"What I'm saying is I really do think Black men are attractive!…when I think about men, I like dark men. I used to date Black men. I think they're attractive. But when I decided to stick to – because it just kept me happiest – was my man Freddy, who just happens to be White," she explained to co-host Tamar Braxton.
