Earlier this week, Colin Kaepernick announced that the National Football League had invited him to a private workout in a possible path back to the league - but is Jay-Z behind it all?
"I'm just getting word from my representatives that the NFL league office reached out to them about a workout in Atlanta on Saturday," Kaepernick tweeted on Tuesday. "I've been in shape and ready for this for 3 years, can't wait to see the head coaches and GMs on Saturday."
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, JAY-Z, "had some influence" in the hotly anticipated workout.
"I am also told that Jay-Z, who has been working with the NFL on some social justice initiatives, was involved in this and pushed this idea to some extent," he said.
Jay has faced criticism over the summer after announcing his partnership with the league, many calling him a "sellout" for not standing with Kap.
But, was this a part of Jay's plan all along?
