Curiosity got the best of some of Chicago's hospital staff, who decided to sneak a look at Jussie Smollett's medical jobs - and were fired for their trouble.

A former nurse at Northwestern Hospital told CBS Chicago that she was fired for allegedly accessing his medical chart and that several other nurses and staffers were fired for the same reason - calling the incident a "misunderstanding."

She denied that she took a peek at the records but claimed that she "scrolled through it" looking for another patients name.

Smollett claimed that he was attacked by two white men who screamed "MAGA Country" as they attacked him, tied a noose around his neck and poured bleach on him. Chicago Police Department has claimed that the attack was nothing more than an elaborate hoax staged by the 'Empire' actor.

Smollett was charged with one count of felony disorderly conduct over the alleged false report and is awaiting trial. He maintains his innocence.
