Gospel Singer Erica Campbell, 47, opened recently up to Tamron Hall, about her marriage. According to Erica, her husband Warryn, 44, to whom she has been married now for 18 years, had been cheating on her for many years.
Erica told the talk show host that Warryn came to her one day and told her that years earlier, he had cheated. Warryn claims that he had to tell her because he didn’t have peace. He claims that his conscience was suffering.
Erica says she was devastated. She had suspected cheating, but never had evidence to support her feelings.
The gospel singer and her husband talked a lot and Erica went through the typical emotions one would go through - anger, wanting to leave, etc.
But as a Christian, Erica thought about God, and the vows she made to Warryn. She asked herself “Was he a mistake or did he make a mistake?” and decided to stay because “he was a good man that made a mistake.”
The couple went to therapy, counseled with other married couples, and talked to her bishop at church - and eventually got through it.
She never blamed herself for him cheating, although she says that she was very consumed with her career at that time and admits that she wasn’t giving him attention.
Here's video of her interview:
