Ja'Net DuBois, one of the stars from the iconic television series Good Times, has died.
According to several reports, police in Glendale, California, appeared to have died of natural causes, and no investigation is ongoing, police Sgt. Dan Stubbs said.
She was 74 at the time of her passing.
Janet Jackson, who portrayed her adopted daughter "Penny" Woods — shared loving tributes to the late actress.
"I am so very saddened to hear my longtime friend Ja'Net DuBois has passed away," Jackson wrote. "I saw first hand how she broke stereotypes and changed the landscape for Black women in entertainment. I'm grateful in recent years I had a chance to see her and create more lasting memories."
Viola Davis, who appeared in the Good Times remake as part of the ABC's December special, also paid tribute to DuBois.
"Oh man!!! Just saw you! What a pleasure it was to meet you. You shaped so much of the best memories of my childhood! God bless you, Ja'net DuBois! RIP," Davis wrote on Twitter, sharing a picture of them both on set.
