Gervonta Davis has been hit with a Stay Away Order by a judge after the boxing champion was arrested for a video where he was shown violently grabbing his baby mama by the collar and possibly the throat at a sporting event. Andretta "Dretta" Smothers, the mother of their daughter, and Davis where at a charity basketball game on Saturday when the incident occurred.

After the video made it rounds on social media, Davis turned himself into local authorities at Coral Gables Police on Tuesday before being transported to the Guilford Knight Correctional Center. In court on Wednesday, he was formally notified of the charges and ordered to next appear in court on Mar. 3.

A Stay Away Order is basically a restraining order, and he is not to go anywhere near her, at least until the matter has been settled by the courts.

Davis has denied being violent with Dretta, "never once hit her.. yeah, I was aggressive and told her come on… that's the mother of my child I would never hurt her other than that Happy New Years.. January was trassshhhhh," he wrote on social media as the story continued to trend online.
