Fox's live musical 'Rent' aired this week and managed to make history - receiving the lowest rating for a live musical ever.

Only 3.6 million viewers tuned in to watch the live show which was almost out-watched by ABC’s America’s Funniest Home Videos in the 8 p.m. hour.

The numbers are exceedingly low when you compare it to NBC's 2013 live show of The Sound of Music Live which pulled in 18.6 million viewers.

To make matters worse, a huge portion of the show was pre-recorded as cast member Brennin Hunt broke his foot before showtime. Rather than cancel, Fox decided to move forward with the show so Fox opting instead to use pre-taped footage from a dress rehearsal. Viewers took to social media and tweeted with the hashtag - #RENTkindalive.
