A Florida man has been charged with premeditated murder - police believe that he fatally beat his wife with a pipe wrench after learning she was pregnant with her boyfriend’s baby.
The accused, Claude Sejour, is a 49-year-old Haitian immigrant. Police say that he called 911 after the murder, to report the crime.
Police say that when they responded to the call, they saw Claude wearing a bloodstained white button-down shirt with blood on his hands and cheek. Claude reportedly told the officer, “I did it. I finished her and called the police and went outside. I’m not crazy."
Claude's wife, Marie Joseph, 40, was dead on her bed, and the couple's 17-year-old daughter witnessed the whole thing.
Sejour, who did not appear to have a criminal record, was being held without bond in Broward’s main jail Thursday on a murder charge.
