Fat Joe had a message for incarcerated rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine who could be walking the streets as soon as January after turning state's witness against his former Bloods crew - "don't do the crime" if you can't do the time.

During an interview with Complex News, Joey recalled his conversation with Tekashi, where he warned him that his actions would land him nowhere good.

"Obviously he ain't listen, 'cause his life is f*cked," Joe said about the case.

He continued, " Do not portray something you're not. Please, don't do the crime. 'Cause then you'll find yourself in that compromisable position, and I don't wish that on anybody ... Now you put yourself here. What're you gonna do? You goin' to tell, f*ck up your family's name? Or you goin' to keep it a hundred? ... I literally pray for those guys."

Fat Joe, who admitted recently that he's considering retiring from rap, is gearing up to release his new project, Family Ties.
