Aoki Lee Simmons has written a poem about being "sensitive to white girls," and her followers don't know what to make of it.
She shared the poem along with the caption:
"Summer of writing snippets! (Love to all my sisters of all colors so don’t take this one the wrong way 🌷🌷) #writersofinstagram #writer #bookstagram #aokileesimmons"
In the poem, Aoki mentions some of the things which white women have easy access to due to their white privilege - and even though they are already at an advantage, she says she is sensitive for them.

Her followers aren't feeling the poem, and some are confused as to why Aoki decided to pen the piece:
"I’m sorry but I’ve never given white girls this much thought and one day baby girl you won’t either. They don’t matter in my world," one user wrote.
Another chimed in, "Hang on. Your a kid model with millionaire parents and into harvard at a young age.... Yet your "jealous of white girls" I think this says more about your confidence than white girls getting a free pass because of skin colour. You have a enormous set of advantages with you very wealthy parents. Maybe your black sisters without your affluent life would appreciate your support."
