Dua Lipa, who took home the award for the Best New Artist, had her mic cut off at the Grammys.
As she accepted her award, Lipa used her speech to stick it to Recording Academy President Neil Portnow, after very few women won awards at last year's awards ceremony.
"Oh my goodness. Thank you so much. I don't even know where to begin.I guess where I want to begin is to say how honored I am to be nominated alongside so many incredible female artists this year because I guess this year we've really stepped up," she said.
She then added:
"I have one thing that I really want to say is for anyone that hasn't realized how special they are to have a different story, a different background, a name that honors their roots because they just want to be normal, whatever the hell that means, just know that no matter where you're from or your background or what you believe in, never let that get in the way of your dreams because you deserve it. And I'm proof that you can do whatever you put your mind to."
Shortly after she gave thanks, her mic was cut off. Drake also had his mic cut off after downplaying the importance of taking home the prestigious award.
