Donald Trump’s new social media app Truth Social crashed shortly after launching last night.
The website says there was a “partial outage” for 7 hours 40 minutes.
“The Truth Social application is online, although user creation is currently rate-limited during our rollout. We will expand capacity over the coming hours to enable more users to join Truth Social.”
Trump had the app created after he was kicked off all social media platforms after allegedly inciting the January 6th Capitol Hill riot.
“We will lift the suspension of the Donald Trump Channel when we determine that the risk of violence has decreased,” Youtube CEO Susan Wojcicki TOLD iNSIDER.
“I think it’s pretty clear that that elevated violence risk still remains,” Wojcicki said.
A spokesperson added, “while a first active strike normally results in a seven day suspension from uploading new videos and livestreams, we extended the suspension on the Donald J. Trump channel due to the continued risk of violence. Our teams are monitoring the situation closely and will lift this suspension when we determine a decrease in the risk of real world violence.”
