DMX is being released from prison this Friday.

The rapper is currently being held at the Gilmer Federal Correctional Institution but will be released today (Jan. 25)

Vulture reports that his attorney, Murray Richman, confirmed the news and X could already be free by the time you read this article.

“He’s coming home tomorrow,” Richman said.

“I spoke to him. He’s very happy. He’s looking forward to being home. He’s never been hotter than now — people have been seeking him out all over. He’s terrific. He’s been terrific.”

X was sentenced to one year in prison last March for tax fraud. He was allowed to return home per house arrest conditions but was thrown back behind bars after failing a drug test.

He will not be 100 percent free and clear. The rapper will be under supervised release for three years and must also pay $2.3 million in restitution to the IRS.
