DaBaby was found guilty of a weapons charge on Thursday and was sentenced to probation by a judge.

The charges stem from a fatal shooting of 19-year-old Jalyn Domonique Craig in a North Carolina Walmart, a spokeswoman for the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office said on Friday in a statement to press.

DaBaby, real name Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, was found guilty of misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon and was sentenced to a year of unsupervised probation, according to DA’s office spokeswoman Meghan McDonald, per the Charlotte Observer.

DaBaby has always maintained that the shooting was self-defense, alleging that he was in Walmart shopping with his family when two men, including Craig, ran up on him while carrying weapons.

As well as the probation, the rapper was also given 30 days behind bars, but the jail sentence has been suspended.

DaBaby, who was recently named one of the XXL Freshman Class of 2019, is currently being sued by a rapper who alleges that DaBaby's security crew out him in a coma. The incident was caught on camera.
