According to folks on social media, Cupkake was taken to a local mental hospital for observation.

Fellow artist Charli XCX posted a message to Cupcakke after the worrying tweet, writing: "You are one of the most unique, genuine and loving people I have ever met in this industry. You are such a HUGE inspiration [to] so many kids, to so many artists, to me. Whenever you walk into a room or onto a stage you exude so much LOVE and the energy in the room turns electric.

"You are powerful. People believe in you. People want to listen to every word you have to say. People are inspired. You have taught me and so many others so much about being ourselves, embracing exactly who we are and being proud of where we come from an what we stand for. You have so much more to teach.

"I have read and heard that you are safe now and that someone is looking after you,"

Cupcake blew up in 2015 when two of her songs, "Deepthroat" and "Vagina", went viral on social media. The songs were later included on her debut mixtape, Cum Cake (2016), which was placed at #23 in Rolling Stone' "Best Rap Albums of 2016" list.
